Sixteen-year-old Nena (Abbey Hoes) has to deal with the suicide attempt of her seriously ill father (Uwe Ochsenknecht). She is deeply hurt by his desire to end his life. During this time she falls in love for the first time with Carlo (Gijs Blom), the pitcher of the baseball team. While she discovers her own hunger for life, she realizes that her father Martin’s life is getting more and more hopeless.
